Platypus Swimming Club were pleased to send a team to the Ruislip Turtles Invitational Gala held on Saturday 23rd September 2023 at Hillingdon Sport and Leisure Complex, Uxbridge. We are pleased to announce that Platypus won the Gala – albeit it was very close! The victory was only decided by the final event. Individual winners were Paul Hastings (100m and diving) and the junior relay consisting of Paul and Amy Robinson. However this was very much a team effort with good showings by all team members.
The victory means that Platypus have won the Ruislip Invitation Gala Shield six times out of the last eight visits. Victory however was by the narrowest of margins, finishing only two points ahead of the Ruislip Turtles B team.
