Step 1 – Contact us to have an informal discussion about your disability and swimming requirements
Step 2 – Arrange to attend a free trial session. This will be on a Sunday between 3-5pm at Hatfield Swim Centre
Step 3 – If you wish to join the club please complete a membership form for each family member wanting to join (see below).
Step 4 – Submit membership forms and pay your annual membership payment (at the pool)
Step 5 – Welcome to Platypus Swimming Club and enjoy your swim!

Frequently Asked Questions

The club’s swim session at Hatfield pool on Sundays is a friendly informal swim session. We do not offer structured swimming lessons or any kind of formal instruction.

Our sessions are run by volunteers and aimed at people with a disability and their immediate family or carers. All non swimmers or junior members need to be accompanied in the water at all times by a responsible adult.

Yes, the club typically operates 48/49 weeks a year with breaks at Easter and Christmas. If for any reason we are not able to run the session at the pool or we plan to close for any reason where possible we will publish this in advance on our Facebook page, and on this Website”. We may also contact you by email. If an unforeseen reason we will attempt to notify members via Facebook and this website.

There is an annual charge of £10 per person (under 2’s are free) and a weekly swim fee of £1 per person (although the weekly fee is being waived for the time being and will be reviewed at the Club’s AGM in 2023).
