We are delighted to announce that NASCH (National Association of Swimming Clubs for the Handicapped) Region 3, of which Platypus Swimming Club is a member, have won the NASCH Championship Gala held on Saturday 4th November 2023 at Leamington Spa.
Region 3 is mainly comprised of clubs from Hertfordshire, Essex and Suffolk. Swimmers from our Club qualified by winning their event at NASCH’s Region 3 Gala (or the second place if the winner were unavailable).
Our Club supplied all of the juniors plus the ladies’ relay team.
Amy Robinson was 3rd in the one length and first equal in the 4 lengths.
Paul Hastings won the 4 lengths and was first equal in the one length.
James Harwood won the 2 lengths.
The ladies’ relay team (Barbara Barton, Fiona Knight and Cheryl Hastings) were second.
The junior team – all from Platypus – won the junior trophy and the senior team were second.
Region 3 won the overall event and the Founder’s Trophy.
